Isn't this replacing a sponsor?
No. Grace opens every call by saying she isn't a sponsor. She reads the literature back, she can help find a meeting, and she routes acute moments to a sponsor from your phone list or to 988. The sponsor relationship stays human.
What about anonymity?
Grace never asks for a full name. Transcripts are not shared outside the group organizer, and personal identifiers can be turned off entirely at setup.
What happens if someone says they're in crisis?
Grace immediately shares 988 (call or text), the SAMHSA helpline (1-800-662-4357), and tells the caller to reach a sponsor from the phone list or call 911 if it's urgent. Then she stops. She doesn't try to counsel through a crisis.
